[Good Smile Company] 1/8 Tachibana Kanade Haregi Ver.

Today we have Kanade figure!

Okay okay. I know this figure was released in November last year. And this picture set probably should have come out earlier in January.

"Some may have seen on the 10th of January many Japanese girls in Kimono, not just a Kimono but really gorgeous ones.

This is called Haregi (晴れ着). The literal meaning of Hare is sunny day, also means wonderful day and Gi/Ki means clothes. Why a clothes for sunny day? Imagine, a sunny day has a lot of light and you leave the house with a very nice clothes as if you are going out to the lightened stage. So, Haregi means a Kimono for special occasion; Shougatsu, celebrations such as Seijin no Hi.

Haregi, as it´s for cheering occasions, has lots of bright colour and usually with gorgeous drawings. Also the sleeves are very long which is called Oo-furisode (大振り袖/ big sleeves). If I´m not wrong, only unmarried women can wear Oo-furisode and married women wear the ones with shorter sleeves."

This figure is manufactured by GSC and in 1/8 scale.

First look at the box

Front:

Sides:

Back:

Top:

It's a really slim box which I guess makes for cheaper shipping which is a good thing that the box doesn't waste that much space.

The figure itself:

A quick summary: It's simple but super gorgeous!

I'm trying to find the words to describe her expression...
Her eyes give a gentle vibe but the mouth... Feels a bit too neutral. I would have much preferred a very gentle smile.
Yes, I know that Kanade's character is pretty stoic and expressionless but still... There's artwork of her with a smile, so just a simple gentle smile would work.

Her her accessories... They are detailed with no obvious leeching of paint.
Only thing is that when I look at the pink flowers.. Their shape reminds me too much of something else. If you get it, you get it.

Some specks of plastic on the back of the hair, nothing too serious.

Moving on to her Kimono;

Bright Colour. Check.
Gorgeous Drawings. Check.

A very close up of the ribbon on her Obi. The painting is pretty accurate with very little leaking.

And now what I love:
The flower designs on the kimono!
The gold glitter is really pretty
Didn't see that from the preview pictures

Shoulder:

Right Sleeve:

Left sleeve:
Her left sleeve has this rectangular design differs from the rest and parts of it is transparent.

Waist down/legs:

Footwear:

Base:
Simple but detailed. Pavement with rock surface. It's not just a picture but also has texture to simulate real surface. I would say this is the minimum I expect of bases.

The wings:
The wings are made of slightly soft and flexible material which I hope would give them a bit more durability. There's some colour gradient in the feathers that gives them a realistic look.

Design:          9/10
Quality:        10/10

Value:           10/10

All in all... This figure is really gorgeous.
At a purchase price of 10,620 yen this figure is really worth the cost and highly recommended.

Side note... The inside of the box makes for a good background for close up shots (See first picture).
