[Pulchra] 1/6 Aragaki Ayase

It's been 4 years since I did one of these but I'm back! So, let's take a look at a figure that just arrived.

Last year, life sized figure of Ayase was released by FigureEX and it looked really awesome in the pictures. Recently, a 1/6 version of that statue came out and since her birthday is coming soon at the end of the month, let's see how it stacks up against her life sized counterpart.

The box is just a plain white with gold letters giving the vibe of simplicity and elegance.

And out of the box she comes. She has the same pose as her life sized counterpart and has the dere feel to it. No complaints there.

Now, a look at the head
The face looks somewhat soft and feels like it blends in too much with the neck. Okay, let's move on to the next... Wait a minute... WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ON THE HAIR?!?! Why are there (almost) horizontal lines across? Were they trying to create the horizontal line on her hair?

Moving on to the uniform... There are soooo many scratches all over the figure.

So what about the design? I really like how the blouse has the creases in it to give some realism.

A closer look for you to appreciate the scratches

All the defects are taking me away from the seductiveness of this pose which is not a good thing.

So, I forgot about changing the aperture of the camera. But she basically sticks into the base just from 2 small sticks. She's really unstable and shaky with an approximate 10-15 degrees of movement towards the direction she's looking at.

As for the design of the base itself, nothing much to say since the Ayase's design is pretty normal so one could say it matches the theme. The only thing is the stubs there really don't provide much support. Considering the weight of the figure and that she's already leaning forward, it'll only be a matter of time before something gives way. *Update* Something actually did give way, and it was the ankle.

Ok fine, the defects so far I guess I could ignore but there's one big issue that I have left for last and really can't ignore. Can you guess what the issue is? No?
Compare the colour of her arms to her legs.
No, that's not due to over-exposure. That's the actual difference in colour. The top of her arms, and the back of her thighs are discoloured as though it was out in the sun for months. It was almost green actually (unfortunately the camera can't really capture that colour cause when I tried to focus on it, it became pretty over-exposed). With the number of scratches in addition to that, I wouldn't be surprised that were the case.

So, Raili came by to help out
See how Ayase's arm has a lot difference in colour to Raili's arm

But her legs are almost the same colour.
Thank you Raili~

And I guess to Amiami this is within the acceptable ranges.
If I brought this back to amiami I'm pretty sure that they would classify it as "J" which is the lowest quality.

At ¥14,060, this figure is not cheap. So, all I paid was the size.

 All in all...

Design: 6/10
The pose is really nice and seductive yet somehow can feel a bit of shyness. She's also detailed in certain parts. Only issue is that as far as intricacy goes, there's nothing really there.

Quality: 1/10
QC definitely didn't do their job on this. From the marks on the hair to the discolouration on the arms, I honestly didn't feel like wasting the space in my cabinet to display this. Even prize figures less than ¥1,000 have better quality than this

Value: 4/10
Which then brings it ultimately to value. Okay, let's assume there were no defects. There really isn't anything much to this figure other than its size. I would rather spend the money on a smaller figure with more interesting designs or a 1/6 doll. Another consideration is actually, how many 1/6 figures do you have? If you don't have that many or maybe you're an Ayase fan and you really want this, this figure is going to take up a lot of vertical real estate in your display cabinet which is rarely used by other figures.

At the end of it, I don't feel that this was a good buy.

Update: So, apparently my figure wasn't a one off thing nor was it a defect that appeared in just mine. Apparently a lot of people have experienced this.
